The Universal Genève Tri-Compax is one of the most celebrated and iconic chronograph models ever produced by the Swiss brand. It is a standout example of horological craftsmanship from Universal Genève and represents a key moment in the evolution of luxury chronographs. The Tri-Compax is distinguished by its three complications, hence the "Tri" part of the name: chronograph, date, and moonphase. Introduced in 1944, the Tri-Compax was the first mass-produced full-calendar chronograph, making it one of the most intricate timepieces of its era. This sophisticated caliber showcases Universal Genève’s engineering excellence at a time when such feats were rare, even among established watchmakers. Remarkably, despite its complexity, the Tri-Compax boasts a clean, uncluttered dial, all within a compact 36mm diameter case. In the 1960s, it was reintroduced as a sports model and gained iconic status, partly due to its frequent wear by legendary musician Eric Clapton.
